KORDON self- directed and self-funded Artist-in-Residence winter program

In an old border guard station on the outskirts of Kärdla, the capital of Hiiumaa, operates the KORDON art residency. In this residency, art engages in dialogue with architecture and the environment. KORDON welcomes applications from all types of creative practitioner (including visual artists, architects, filmmakers, writers, musicians, performing artists and those working across disciplines or in collaboration). We offer 2 or 4 week winter residencies which begin on Sundays and end on Saturdays. The winter residency offers an intimate and peaceful time in an island environment and is suitable for work that requires concentration or just time for self-reflection.

Application Process: As the space is limited, KORDON selects applicants based on an evidence of their professional experience, quality of past work, project idea and compatibility with other residents staying at the same time.
