Open Call results announced

The Ukrainian artists who will reside in the Estonian Creative Residencies Network in 2023 and 2024 have been selected. 


Within the framework of the joint project, 8 members of the network will organise 9 residencies for Ukrainian artists in Estonia in 2023-2024. The two-month residencies held in various Estonian creative residencies offer nine Ukrainian creatives a safe creative environment and networking opportunities. The LOORE network offers 8 scholarships that cover accommodation, material and production costs, transportation and 2 months of stipend.

The project is funded by the Nordic Culture Point (1/22 Additional funding for artist residencies to support Ukraininan Artists, project ID28661)

 

The first resident artists will arrive already in August 2023. Eva Alvor (Tartu Art House), Maria Plotnikova (KAI Art Center).  The remaining artists reside from November 2023 to May 2024: Sophia Lenartovych (Estonian Literature Society residency)Diana Derii (Maajaam)Andrii Kovalevskyi (Copperleg).

Arvo Pärt Center will host a duo of composers and musicians Roksana Smirnova & Misha Kalinin from Ukraine. Oleksandr Halishchuk will be hosted by MASSIA and TYPA will be hosting artist Oleksandra Viazinko. MASSIA and TYPA cooperated with Artists at Risk for selecting their artists.

About

​Thanks to the funding by the Nordic Culture Point, LOORE can provide support to Ukrainian artists, writers, curators, critics and musicians etc. During 2023 – 2024 members of the LOORE network will host artists through a funded residency program, giving artists the opportunity to make use of the different available opportunities of the organisations and the unique networking possibilities, such as visits, workshops, talks and programs in other locations.

 

This open call presents 8 different 2 month residency opportunities and a one-month residency extension opportunity from our partner. Artists are asked to apply only to the residency programs which fits their work. 

 All residencies are free for the artist.
Artists will receive 1500€ scholarship, a 600€ materials budget and a transport allowance.

To apply please complete the application form, where you will be asked to select the residency program you wish to apply for.
 

Artists can apply for a maximum of 2 residency programs, please do this in separate forms.
