On April 17, LOORE members gathered at TYPA – the Centre for Print and Paper Arts – to hold the organization’s general assembly. In addition to the regular agenda items — such as approving the membership fee and the annual report — several important topics were discussed, and a new board was elected.

At the start of the meeting, Charlotte Biszewski introduced TYPA. The centre’s mission is to preserve, research, and showcase the heritage of print and paper arts while fostering creative practices related to these fields. After the guided tour, members enjoyed refreshments, followed by a discussion on the nature and role of artist residencies. Mari-Liis Rebane then introduced an idea for how LOORE could help members to pay stipends for creative professionals. Following a lively discussion about the role of residencies, everybody in the room agreed that residencies stand for:

  • Creative freedom

  • Time and space

  • Peaceful worktime

  • Infrastructure supporting creative work

  • Advancing creative artistic growth

  • Secure space

  • Cultural experience

  • Inspiration

  • Feeling of belonging

  • Agreed expectations

  • Transparent selection process

At the conclusion of the assembly, a new board was elected to guide LOORE’s activities over the next three years. Sincere thanks to the first board (2022–2025) — Anu Kivilo, Evelyn Grzinich, Kadri Laas-Lepasepp, Mari-Liis Rebane, and Peeter Talvistu — for your knowledge, time, and dedication in building a resilient and evolving organization.

The newly elected board now takes over this work with pride. Its members are Charlotte Biszewski, Johanna Rannula, and Niina-Annali Kaarnamo. Anu Kivilo and Evelyn Grzinich will also continue from the previous board.

A deep bow of gratitude to the outgoing board! Congratulations and best wishes to the new board members!
